Nina Sloan '24 Receives Fulbright Award

Recently graduated Dartmouth Linguistics major Nina Sloan'24 has received a Fulbright grant for a term abroad in Norway. She will spend her Fulbright grant term in Trondheim, Norway, teaching English, splitting her time between the Norwegian University of Science Technology and Byåsen Upper Secondary School. During this time, she intends to work with South Saami speakers and pursue a supplemental research project on the language and its ongoing revitalization efforts. Nina says, "I am especially excited to apply skills I learned in Professor Stanford's Field Methods course (which also studied an Arctic Indigenous language, Dolgan!), and engage in linguistic fieldwork in Norway."
