Awarded to Sally Akevai Nicholas (PI, Massey University, Auckland, New Zealand) and her colleague Dartmouth Professor Rolando Coto-Solano for their linguistic research on Cook Islands Māori. The research project focuses on the co-creation of language revitalization resources using natural language processing, including automatic speech recognition transcriptions, morphological tagging, and syntactic parsing.
